The Story of Mystic Menagerie Emporium

Every good emporium has a story.
Somewhere between the old forests, forgotten paths, whispered folklore, and the turning of the seasons, there is a little place where curious things gather. A place where woodland creatures feel at home, where mythical beasts might wander through the shelves, and where the ordinary can become just a little bit magical.
That place is Mystic Menagerie Emporium.
Born from a Need
Mystic Menagerie Emporium began with a simple realization: there just wasn’t enough out there for the Pagan community.
There are countless places to find spiritual goods, fantasy décor, and things with a vaguely “witchy” appearance. But finding things that feel intentionally created for Pagans—things that celebrate nature, folklore, the Wheel of the Year, the old ways, mythology, and the many different ways people connect with the world around them—can be surprisingly difficult.
So rather than simply wishing there were more, I decided to create it.
Mystic Menagerie Emporium was born from a desire to make something different: a place where Pagan-inspired creations could exist alongside fantasy, folklore, woodland whimsy, books, gaming, medieval influences, and all the wonderfully curious things that make us who we are.
But I never wanted it to be just another online shop.
I wanted it to feel like a place you could visit.
A place you could wander.
A place where you might arrive looking for one thing and leave having discovered something completely unexpected.
And Then There Was Elaris

Every magical place needs a guide.
For the Emporium, that guide is Elaris.
Elaris is a little frog with a great deal of curiosity and a fondness for magical things. He isn’t here simply to sit on the logo or decorate the website. He is part of the world of Mystic Menagerie Emporium.
Somewhere along his travels, Elaris discovered the Emporium and decided that this was exactly where he belonged. Now he spends his days exploring its curious corners, keeping an eye on the latest treasures, and occasionally getting himself into places where a sensible frog probably shouldn’t be.
But Elaris understands something important.
Magic isn’t always grand.
Sometimes it’s a beautiful object sitting on your altar.
Sometimes it’s the first crisp evening of autumn.
Sometimes it’s finding a tiny creature hiding among the shelves.
Sometimes it’s opening a book and discovering a world you didn’t know existed.
Sometimes it’s creating something with your own hands.
And sometimes it’s simply finding a place where you feel like you belong.
Elaris wants the Emporium to be that kind of place.

My Story

I guess I was destined to make things.
I’ve been surrounded by makers my whole life.
My mom loved to crochet, and my grandmother—my Nano—was a fantastic seamstress. She could make beautiful things with a needle and thread, and I grew up watching her create. My dad was a builder. Since I was his only child (and his boy), I was often right there beside him helping build, fix, and figure things out.
I guess you could say I came by it naturally.
Making things has always been part of who I am. These days, I’ve just added a few more tools to the toolbox.
Then I discovered 3D printing.
I’m a member of a makerspace called The Maker Barn, and one day a friend was there showing me some of the things he had printed on our 3D printers.
I was hooked.
There was something absolutely magical about taking an idea and watching it appear, layer by layer, right in front of you.
So naturally, I had to get my own.
Now I have three 3D printers.
Each of which is its own unique pain.
But I love them anyway.
So where does the witchy stuff come in?
I’ve been a witch for quite some time, and I’ve always loved finding things that feel a little magical, unusual, strange, or just plain fun.
But when I started going to markets—including markets geared toward the witchy and pagan community—I noticed something.
There wasn’t nearly as much witchy stuff as I thought there should be.
Sure, there were plenty of beautiful things. But I wanted the fun stuff. The weird stuff. The things that make you stop at a table and think:
“Oh my gods. I need that.”
So I decided to make it.
And thus, Mystic Menagerie Emporium was born.
If I’m going to spend my time printing all these really kewl things for my witchy community…
I might as well get paid to do it.
That’s really what Mystic Menagerie Emporium is about.
I’m not trying to be a giant corporation. I’m not trying to make the same thing everyone else is making. And I’m definitely not interested in filling a warehouse with mass-produced stuff.
I want to make things for my people.
Because I believe witchy things have a different kind of vibe when they come from an actual witch rather than a factory.
There’s something special about knowing that the person who made the strange little object sitting on your altar, the curious thing on your shelf, or the wonderfully weird thing you just had to have actually understands why you wanted it in the first place.
Why “Mystic Menagerie Emporium”?
I deliberately chose a name that wouldn’t box me into one particular type of product.
Mystic gives me the magical side.
Menagerie leaves room for all the strange, wonderful, and unexpected things I might create.
And Emporium suggests exactly what I want this shop to become: a wonderfully eclectic collection of things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them.
Because I don’t know exactly what I’ll be making five years from now.
And honestly?
That’s part of the fun.
What I want Mystic Menagerie to be
I want you to stumble across my shop and get excited.
I want you to find something that makes you smile, something that feels enchanted, something that makes you say, “That is SO me.”
Most of all, I want to become that witchy weirdo who has all the really kewl stuff.
The one your witchy friends tell you about.
The one whose booth you have to stop at because you never know what strange and wonderful thing you’ll find.
That’s the goal.
So welcome to my little corner of the magical, the unusual, and the delightfully weird.
Come see what I’ve been making.

Come Wander With Us
The world can be a busy and ordinary place.
Mystic Menagerie Emporium is our little rebellion against that.
It is a place to slow down.
To explore.
To celebrate the changing seasons.
To reconnect with nature and old stories.
To find something meaningful—or something wonderfully silly.
To embrace the parts of ourselves that still believe there might be something magical hiding just beyond the edge of the path.
Whether you are Pagan, a witch, a nature lover, a fantasy enthusiast, a bookworm, a gamer, a maker, a collector, or simply someone who enjoys discovering unusual and beautiful things, there is a place for you here.
Elaris has already found his.
Now he’s waiting to see what you discover.
Welcome to Mystic Menagerie Emporium.
Come wander a little.
You never know what you’ll find.
